Kansas City, MO, June 13--"Installation: The Price is Right, You Get What You Pay For." The theme of 12th Convention hits right on target with CFI’s mission of Customer Service. There is a wealth of information available August 11-13, 2005 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Sheraton City Center Hotel. On Wednesday, the CFI Board of Directors meets. Their goal is to enhance the value of CFI membership and develop programs by which professional installation is promoted. At 7:30 pm, the CFI Chapter Conference convenes and is open to all CFI members. Thursday at 7:30 am, the WFCA Leadership Conference is the exciting kickoff to a great weekend. Each year the numbers increase for a motivational conference that stresses the value of being a leader. CFI appreciates the sponsorship of the WFCA in bringing exceptional leaders together to build the strength of the organization. Chris Davis, CEO is set to welcome the group and share his goals for the growth of CFI. Early registration is required to receive the WFCA-CFI Leadership shirt. The Friday and Saturday educational opportunities include: •The Armstrong Wood Certification is available to the first 25 CFI Installers who register. There is no fee for those who attend the Convention. Registration is available online or by contacting the CFI office. Tim Provence and Dick Schmidt of Armstrong will conduct the certification. The written test must be completed prior to the Convention. •Jake Gregory of Sponge Cushion Inc. will provide updated information concerning the products of tomorrow. •The Adhesive-Substrate Panel presents the latest information for the flooring professionals. The panel will include technical representatives from the adhesive industry. •A commercial installation panel will present guidelines for participating in the commercial marketplace. The demand for CFI commercial installers is skyrocketing. •New CFI Associate, DRIcore will also offer certification with their product. It is important to register prior to Convention, as each class is limited to 25. The firm is developing a nationwide list of recommended certified installers. •New avenues to increased revenues using the KOOLGLIDE Seaming System will be the topic presented by Rob Rothfuss and Paul Vidor of Seam Master. •CFI’s Handsewing Course returns this year after numerous requests; an opportunity to learn first hand the art of sewing carpet seams. •Jerry Miller will share information concerning natural fiber carpets, including installation techniques. •Mack Sherrif of Mohawk demonstrates the installation of woven products and offers installation techniques as related to commercial carpets. •Ray Knapp of Taylor Tools will demonstrate techniques that will add dollars to the bottom line when the removal of existing flooring is involved. •Robert Varden, Jon Namba and Andrew Aufiero will conduct a course on patterned carpet installation.
