2005 Builders' Show Anticipates Over 90,000 At

Orlando, FL, January 6--Upwards of 90,000 housing professionals, including home and apartment builders, architects, product manufacturers, and those involved in every aspect of residential and light commercial construction, are expected to show up for their industry’s largest annual trade show and exposition, the 2005 International Builders’ Show, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on January 13-16, 2005. Taking advantage of the second-largest convention center in the country, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) event will boast a record 1,600+ exhibitors spread across more than 1.5 million square feet of space – the equivalent of more than 40 football fields. On display will be the most cutting-edge designs, technologies, products and services available to the home building community in the new year. "Orlando is a great venue for our convention," said NAHB President Bobby Rayburn, a home and apartment builder from Jackson, Miss. "It has everything you need to put on a spectacular show – the great winter climate, the huge convention center, the numerous recreational opportunities and fun entertainment options are great incentives for NAHB’s 215,000 members to attend the IBS." Rayburn noted that the annual event has been held in Las Vegas during the past two years. The show is the housing industry’s largest new-product showcase, with suppliers spanning more than 300 categories ranging across every niche of the residential and light commercial construction fields. Additional draws include more than 200 educational seminars to help builders and their affiliates expand their professional knowledge, explore new opportunities and grow their businesses. Another feature is football legend Terry Bradshaw, who led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl victories and has since become a prominent sports analyst on network TV. Bradshaw will be delivering the keynote address for Grand Opening Ceremonies of the International Builders’ Show on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 am in the South Hall of the Orange County Convention Center. Along with several show homes that will be built on Convention Center grounds only for the duration of the International Builders’ Show, another top attraction is the The New American Home 2005, a brand new 9,035-square-foot home that is in its final construction stages in the nearby neighborhood of Baldwin Park. This home, which will be sold following the event, showcases the most cutting-edge technologies and products available for residential applications. Convention goers will board buses at the Convention Center that will transport them to the neighborhood for their home tour.
