UK's Brintons Sold to Carlyle Group

Midlands, UK, Sept. 6, 2011 --Carpet firm Brintons says it has been acquired by private equity firm Carlyle Group in a deal of about $64 million.

The deal involves the company taking on about $32 million in debt and investing about $32 million, Brintons said.

The firm has been owned by the same family for more than 200 years.
