Turk Named Dal-Tile President
Dallas, TX, February 7, 2006--Harold G. Turk has been named president of Dal-Tile Corp, according to the Dallas Business Journal. Turk will replace Chris Wellborn in the post. Wellborn has been named chief operating officer of Mohawk Industries, the parent of Dal-Tile. Turk had previously served as executive vice president for the company's strategic business unit. Turk joined Dal-Tile in 1976 as assistant manager of warehouse operations. He has held various management positions in the company's sales and marketing divisions. "Under Harold's leadership the Daltile strategic business unit has experienced tremendous growth," Wellborn said. "He has been instrumental in the development of the strategic vision of the SBU (strategic business unit), which includes the addition of many new SSCs (sales service centers), the gallery showroom concept and the growth of our natural stone business."
