StonePeak Ceramics To Hold Grand Opening On June 1
Crossville, TN, June 7, 2005 - StonePeak Ceramics, Inc., a new porcelain ceramic tile company exclusively dedicated to the American market, is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, June 11. Following the grand opening ceremony which will be attended by company officials and local dignitaries, the company will host an "open house" for the community at its Crossville production facility from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring free food, music and facility tours for all in attendance. StonePeak Ceramics is the first American subsidiary of its Italian parent company, Graniti Fiandre. Building upon Graniti Fiandre's prestigious heritage and extensive knowledge of producing high-quality porcelain ceramic tile, StonePeak Ceramics is manufacturing tile solutions that can be used in a variety of American homes and businesses. The company introduced four of its initial product lines in early May, and the other initial product lines will be introduced later this summer. The 628,000-square-foot facility houses one of the most complex production lines in the world. To build a facility that supports the size and scope of such sophisticated machinery, more than 60 local contracting companies and service providers assisted in the plant's construction. StonePeak Ceramics is in the process of hiring approximately 150 employees to run the state-of-the-art production line. Dozens of local residents have already been hired and trained at the Tennessee Technology Center and at the Graniti Fiandre headquarters in Castellarano, Italy. StonePeak Ceramics began construction of its $50 million production facility in 2002. The area's pro-business attitude, hard work ethic, and abundant supply of raw materials assured StonePeak executives that Crossville was the best location to anchor their first American business. "We are committed to the American market for the long-term, and in so doing, are dedicated to being a good employer and citizen of Crossville," said Cristina Minozzi, president of StonePeak Ceramics. "The highly-skilled employees from the Crossville area are the backbone of our manufacturing operations, and we look forward to bringing more area employees on board."
