New York, NY, May 17--Each year, a panel of international editors bestows the ICFF Editors Awards at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which was held May 15 to May 18 in New York.
Catalonia, Spain-based Nanimarquina was the winner of the award in the Carpet and Flooring category. Spanish designer Nani Marquina is one of the most successful editors of contemporary carpets and the founder of the Nanimarquina brand.
She set up her company in 1986. Since then, it has been selling handmade 100% wool rugs with a unique style that has been praised all over the world. Javier Mariscal and Jorge Pensi designs are included in Nanimarquina´s collections. The company is now widening their range of products towards other textile objectives such as cushions and blankets.
"It is just great to be for the first time at ICFF and be an award winner. The award is reflecting what people are telling us when they come to our booth: we like your work," said Marquina after receiving the award. Many exhibitors, attendees and members of the press were at the event.
