Sherwin-Williams Reports Higher Income, Sales

Cleveland, OH, July 20, 2012 -- Sherwin-Williams said second-quarter net income rose 27%, and the company raised its profit outlook for the year.

The company said Thursday that it earned $227.8 million, or $2.17 per share, from April through June. That's up from $179.1 million, or $1.66 per share, a year ago.

Revenue rose 9% to $2.57 billion from $2.35 billion as paint sales increased.

Sherwin-Williams said it is still dealing with the effects of rising costs for raw materials and is raising prices as a result.
