New York, NY, July 7--The number of online job ads grew for a sixth straight month in June, a sign that the labor market is improving steadily, according to Monster, a leading online job Web site.
The company said its employment index climbed to 136 last month, compared with 134 in May and up considerably from 108 registered in June 2004.
Monster said demand for workers rose in 14 of 20 industries surveyed, with insurance and finance making the biggest strides in job availability.
