Leggett & Platt Acquires Griptex

Carthage, MO, January 18, 2006--The coated fabrics division of Leggett & Platt acquired Griptex, a manufacturer of non-slip textile products for the home. Based in Cartersville, Georgia, Griptex makes Wonderliner shelf liners, non-slip rug underlay, liners for supermarkets and OEM products for RV-marine, medical, industrial and automotive industries. Said Robert Weber, president, L&P coated fabrics division: "Griptex non-slip products are a good fit for us and complement the current Vantage line of coated fabrics used inside and outside the home." In a related move, L&P also required the assets of American Non-Slip, including their Premiere and Mega-Loc non-slip rug pads. L&P says it intends to similarly integrate these products into the Vantage operations.
