IVC Using Solar Charged Lift Trucks

Dalton, GA, April 25, 2012 -– The IVC US distribution facility in Dalton has added eight electric powered lift trucks.

The battery charging stations for the electric lift trucks are powered by IVC’s solar energy system that includes 450 solar panels. Using solar energy to power the charging stations makes the entire process emission-free.

The trucks are powered by a fast charging battery station capable of replenishing energy during shift changes, IVC said.

“Electric lift trucks create a healthier work environment, use less natural resources, and help our facility run more efficiently,” said Paul Murfin, president of IVC US.

The fleet of 80 volt trucks saves more than 20,400 gallons of gas and 300 quarts of motor oil per year, eliminates emissions, and cuts down on noise, IVC said.
