Daltile Opens Three Tile & Stone Galleries

Dallas, TX, April 3, 2007--Daltile has added three new Tile & Stone Galleries to its network of design centers across the United States, offering dealers places to send their customers to view and select tile and stone for their projects--all in a highly-styled, professional setting.  Daltile Tile & Stone Galleries have opened in Manhattan, Chicago and San Diego, bringing the total number of Design Centers to nine.  The company also operates Gallery Design Centers in Anaheim (California), Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City – covering nearly every region of the United States.

“We created Daltile’s Tile & Stone Galleries with homeowners in mind.  The entire experience was designed to provide a comfortable setting where homeowners could explore all the tile options available to them,” said Lori Kirk-Rolley, marketing director at Daltile. “Whether it’s for a residential renovation or new construction, dealers can use the Galleries to help their customers select tile or stone for their projects, as well as to help them visualize what the tile will look like compared to other elements of the design.  Once homeowners select their tile at the Gallery, they return to the dealer to place the order.”

The Tile & Stone Gallery concept was designed by Gensler|Dallas, one of the country’s top architectural design firms, to showcase the complete Daltile collection of products, including porcelains, natural stones, glass, metal, decorative accents and slabs.  The Galleries offer all the tools a homeowner needs including a full library of loose tiles, grouted idea boards, decorative accents and medallion samples.

“In addition to housing Daltile’s broad selection of tile and natural stone products, we have staffed each center with designers who can provide product information,” said Kirk-Rolley. “These Galleries are a terrific resource for our valued dealers, both as a selection center and as a source of referrals.  Because we don’t sell tile directly to homeowners, we are happy to refer homeowners to their nearest dealer for order placement.”

In order to showcase Daltile’s wide assortment of ceramic and porcelain tile, grouted idea boards are merchandised throughout the Galleries to inspire visitors.  The idea boards each mix-and-match a variety of tile sizes with accents to showcase a variety of patterns and styles.

Medallions, borders and other glass and metal accent pieces are mounted and artistically displayed on modern frames along one wall of the galleries to highlight the intricate designs that they can bring to a design project.  Each of the framed accents can be removed from the wall to be laid side-by-side with other tile for creative mixing and matching.

The natural stone area features grouted panels that are organized by stone type to demonstrate the unique, natural variations within each stone. A full selection of quartz and natural stone slab samples for countertops, including marble, granite, slate, travertine and limestone, are also featured.

Because the primary purpose of the Tile & Stone Design Galleries is to help homeowners make tile and natural stone selections for their design projects, Daltile has created a Library section in each design center.  In the Library, visitors have loose tile samples of all Daltile’s products at their fingertips, as well as grout kits and edge treatment design examples for stone slab countertops.

“We want dealers to see Daltile as a partner in helping their customers to create sophisticated, fashionable looks, as well as helping dealers in educating their customers about the tile and natural stone used in their projects,” added Kirk-Rolley.
