Clinch Mountain Expands Hardwood Plant

Lebanon, VA, May 3, 2006-- Clinch Mountain Finishing & Logistics, a hardwood flooring manufacturer, will expand its Russell County facility, creating 220 jobs, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced Tuesday. The Lebanon-based company plans to invest $6 million to expand its building by 48,000-square-feet. The new facility will produce pre-finished hardwood flooring utilizing ultra violet finishing technology. "With this new state-of-the-art facility, we will be able to handle ten times the volume of Clinch Mountain Hardwood and also offer our customers warehousing and direct shipments to their customers," company president Luther Boyd said in a release from the governor's office. Kaine approved a $300,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist with the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $250,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds for the project.
