CarpetsPlus Color Tile Unveils Private Labeled Har

Chattanooga, TN, April 28--CarpetsPlus Color Tile recently unveiled its new hardwood program to attending members at its annual winter convention held in Phoenix, AZ. CarpetsPlus Color Tile has teamed up with Mohawk, Shaw and Anderson to bring its members an attractive and comprehensive hardwood package under the Color Tile brand. Each member will be able to customize their package depending upon the specific needs of their region. Jason Kyzer, Director of Marketing - Hard Surfaces stated, "Over the past two and a half years, we have undergone a transformation in the stores in both the hard surface and soft surface categories. Stepping back and looking at the progress we have made, we wanted to fill in any gaps we had in our merchandising. The most obvious was in hardwood and we knew we had to fill that hole and fill it well." Three wall units and four island units offer diverse options for both the small and large retailer. "One of the biggest challenges we face as merchandisers is floor space and the number of product samples we can show at one time. The island display was developed specifically for the retailer who under utilizes his/her retail floor," explains Jon Logue, Co-President and CEO. These low profile modular units hold up to 80 product samples of solid and engineered constructions in a variety of styles and finishes, making it easy for the consumer to shop a multitude of products at one time. The three wall units offer a larger scale coordinating option and hold up to 90 product samples. All of the samples are color-coded making them very consumer friendly. The modular design of these units allows retailers to display them in a number of configurations, creating a cohesive hardwood-merchandising unit. The products from Mohawk, Shaw and Anderson were chosen based on several criteria including manufacturers’ reputation, service, overall quality and value of their products. Kyzer stated, "We truly believe in supporting our suppliers and distributors. Developing our product strategies for this year, we had to know our strengths and weaknesses and create partnerships accordingly. Our strengths are in marketing, merchandising and service. Our suppliers have strengths in manufacturing, sourcing and distribution. Combining these ultimately gives our members the best in quality, service and value, which in turn, they can offer to their consumers." To complement the new merchandising system, the product offerings have been divided into four distinct collections: Value, Traditions, Captivation and Hand Crafted. The Value collection consists of entry-level solid and engineered hardwoods while the Traditions collection consists of domestic species hardwoods with classic American styling. Both offer excellent price points for the budget-oriented consumer. The Captivation and Hand Crafted collections contain a wide variety of hand scraped, exotic, distressed and sculpted hardwoods providing the design savvy consumer with excellent selections.
