Carpet One Names Top Performing Members

Manchester, NH, Aug. 18--Carpet One is pleased to announce the top-selling dealers and industry leaders who were recently recognized at the 2003 Carpet One International Summer Convention held in Orlando. "These annual awards truly capture the entrepreneurial spirit and extraordinary collective talents of our members," said Alan Greenberg, co-chairman and co-CEO of Carpet One. "It's a wonderful tradition that allows us to pause and congratulate the 'best of the best' among us for a job well-done." The coveted Dealer of the Year awards, reflecting the greatest percentage increase in volume of sales versus prior year, were presented in three categories based on store volume: large, mid size and small volume dealers. Albert Pelusio, Jr. of Rochester Linoleum & Carpet One in Rochester, NY, a Carpet One member since 1990, was named Dealer of the Year in the large volume dealer category. Kenneth Teal of Teal Tile Carpet One in Starke, FL, a member since 1998, took home the award in the mid-size dealer category. Stephen Skelton of Springfield Carpet One, Springfield, OH, a member since 1997, won the distinction for small dealer. Additionally, Carpet One introduced a special Dealer of the Year award winner this year. John Toliver of Toliver's Carpet One in Tempe, AZ, a Carpet One member since 1993, was recognized as Dealer of the Year for his great leadership, dedication and competitive spirit. "An exemplary dealer exudes and inspires leadership in all that he does, and we are thrilled to introduce a special Dealer of the Year category this year to acknowledge that spirit," said Carpet One co-chairman and co-CEO Howard Brodsky. This year's Wally Hileman Award was presented to Phil Kennedy of Comanche Home Center Carpet One in Lawton, OK, a Carpet One member since 2001. The award recognizes a new Carpet One member who has been with the company at least two years and has shown the greatest percentage increase in purchases from the previous year. The Wally Hileman Award was created to honor Carpet One's vice president for membership from 1991 to 1998, a pivotal time of growth for the company in which membership increased by 350 percent and members from Canada, Australia, and New Zealand joined the organization.
