Orders for Durable Goods Inched Down in July
Washington, DC, August 25, 2021--New orders for manufactured durable goods in July decreased $0.4 billion or 0.1% to $257.2 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced. This decrease, down following two consecutive monthly increases, followed a 0.8% June increase.

New Home Sales Rose 1% in July
Washington, DC, August 24, 2021—Sales of new single-family houses in July 2021 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 708,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 1.0% above the revised June rate of 701,000 but 27.2% below the July 2020 estimate of 972,000.
