Durable Goods Orders Rose 3.1% in January
Washington, DC, February 27, 2025—New orders for manufactured durable goods in January, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $8.7 billion or 3.1% to $286.0 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced.
Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 22,000 in Week Ending Feb. 22

New Home Sales Declined 10.5% in January
Washington, DC, February 26, 2025—Sales of new single-family houses in January 2025 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 657,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 10.5% below the revised December rate of 734,000 and 1.1% below the January 2024 estimate of 664,000.
