2021 Surfaces in Las Vegas Ends Today

Las Vegas, NV, June 18, 2021-Today is the last day of the three-day Surfaces (TISE) show, taking place in Las Vegas.

Inside Mandalay Bay, thousands of buyers and sellers have gathered, although compared to previous years, attendance was down proportunate to the size of the show. Square footage was less than 20% of the typical Januay show (including large lounge areas for North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD), press and World Floor Covering Association (WFCA). Show attendance was bolstered by a mandatory meeting of the National Floorcovering Alliance (NFA), a Floors and More buying group meeting, as well as a meeting and event hosted by the FEI group (formerly Floor Expo).

Surfaces was founded in 1990 by the WFCA as a residentially focused flooring trade show, targeting retailers, distributors and the installation trade. Hanley Wood bought the show in 2000 and then sold its exhibition business to Informa in 2014. It is held every year in January for two primary reasons: retail traffic is slow in January so dealers can justify leaving their businesses and most of the major suppliers launch their new products at the beginning of the year.

The January show was postponed to June due to the pandemic. Tempuratures during the week reached a near record high of 117 degrees.
