Shaw Expanding Carpet Operations in Calhoun, Ga.

Dalton, GA, Sept. 14, 2009--Shaw Industries said it is expanding its carpet manufacturing operations in Calhoun, Ga.

The expansion will increase Shaw’s capacity to process filament yarn to be used in residential carpet. Shaw will outfit an idled plant with equipment and infrastructure.  

Shaw expects this expansion to be complete by the middle of 2010. Shaw said it partnered with the State of Georgia and the Development Authority of Gordon County to make the expansion possible.
