Saudi Arabia Claims #3 Global Carpet Producer Spot

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, June 27, 2007-- Mohammed Al Sorayai, chairman of Al Sorayai Trading & Industrial Group 'ATIG', one of the major manufacturers and exporters of carpets in the Middle East announced that ATIG annually produces 40 million square meters of carpets which positions Saudi Arabia as the third biggest carpet manufacturer in the globe, according to AME Info.

 

During a press conference, the chairman affirmed that currently 'ATIG' exports to 65 countries around the world.

 

The group's CEO, Mr. Saleh Alsorayai said 'Alsorayai Group historically enjoys a great presence for over 55 years in the Saudi market, where its previously had incepted its activity under the name of Nasser & Abdullah Al Sorayai Company, in which the company was focusing on importing and selling carpets in the local market'.

 

He added 'While the founders had a wise vision to the future and based on relentless efforts managed to build the first Carpets Factory in 1985 enhanced with great support from the government of custodian of the two holy mosques that has and still contribute to boosting national industries and aims at positioning Saudi companies among global toppers on one hand and to meet the demand of its local market on the other hand.'
