Mooresville, NC, Dec. 10--Lowe's announced today the company will expand its operational structure to support its ongoing nationwide growth and ensure continued high customer service levels in its stores.
Lowe's is expanding to five operational divisions nationally--Northeast, Southeast, North Central, South Central, and West--up from three current divisions. The changes will be effective Jan. 1.
"Our ability to execute key initiatives in the stores and maintain our high customer service standards day-in-and-day-out is one of the key components of Lowe's success over the years," said Larry Stone, Lowe's senior executive vice president-Operations. "This divisional expansion and realignment will allow us to maintain our sharp focus on the stores and customer service as our rapid store growth continues nationally."
As part of this plan, Lowe's is promoting two long-time store operations veterans to senior vice president, Rick Damron and Robert Wagner. Damron, who will oversee the company's new Northeast Division, joined Lowe's in 1981 and previously served as regional vice president in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets. Wagner, a 27-year Lowe's veteran who previously served as regional vice president for stores in the Pacific Northwest region, will now run the company's Western Division.
"Both Rick and Robert have excelled as regional vice presidents and together possess nearly 50 years of combined Lowe's experience," added Stone. "All combined, the total Lowe's experience for our five Operations SVPs is more than 120 years, which is clearly one of the deepest and most-experienced store leadership teams in retail today."
Under the new structure, Lowe's existing senior vice presidents of Operations, Mike Brown, Nick Canter and Greg Wessling, will oversee the South Central, North Central and Southeast Divisions, respectively.
