Kronospan Expanding Production in Czech Republic

Jihlava, Czech Republic, September 1--Kronospan is modernizing its production in the Czech Republic, investing more than CEK 2.5 B in a new chip board line, which should be commissioned in July 2005. The new hall will employ 60 persons. The construction jobs will cost about CEK 400 mil and should be completed in 2005. The new line should produce about 120,000 cu mt of boards by the end of 2005. Besides sales on the domestic market, the firm plans to export to countries of Central Europe, Germany and Italy. Kronomech (Czech Republic), manufacturer of technological equipment for wood-working production, moved from the premises of the firm for the reason of the construction of the new hall. Kronodoor (Czech Republic), interior door manufacturer, will move from the firm's plant to the local industrial zone in 2005.
