Federated Names Anne MacDonald Chief Marketing Off

Cincinnati, OH, February 21, 2006--Federated Department Stores today announced that Anne MacDonald, whose brand-building experience includes senior positions with Citibank and PepsiCo, will join the company as its chief marketing officer and president of the Macy's corporate marketing division. MacDonald succeeds Peter Sachse, who will fill a newly created position as chairman and chief executive officer of macys.com. Both will be based in New York and report directly to Terry J. Lundgren, Federated's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Anne MacDonald's mission will be to lead us outside of the traditional realm of retail store marketing and to establish Macy's as a leading American consumer brand," Lundgren said.
