Dalton, GA, May 26--Rick Hamilton, North American Senior Commercial Manager for Dow Emulsion Polymers' carpet business, will retire from The Dow Chemical Company on June 30 after more than 29 years of service.
Hamilton began his Dow career in 1974 in the Marketing Development Program in Houston, Texas. In 1976, he was transferred to Los Angeles where he became the Dow latex sales representative for the West Coast carpet industry. He was soon promoted to Customer Financial Services Regional Manager and moved to Midland, Michigan in January, 1980. In 1982, he became the Dow Product Marketing Manager for Carpet Latex and Resilient Vinyl Flooring. In 1984, he became a District Manager for Dow in the New York Sales office. In 1986 he transferred to Dalton, Georgia where he was named the Carpet Latex Commercial Manager for the United States. In 1999, he became the North American Commercial Manager for Carpet Latex. In 1993, Hamilton took on additional duties as the National Sales Manager for Carpet Polyurethanes and assumed his current role when Dow acquired Reichhold’s carpet latex business in January, 2002.
Cindy Elliott, Commercial Director for Dow Emulsion Polymers in the Americas, stated, “Rick has been a critical part of our carpet business for many years and we will miss his guidance, knowledge of the business and skills.”
