Disturb. Trade Sales & Manu. Shipments Rose 1.8% in March

Washington, DC, May 17, 2022-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for March was estimated at $1,832.1 billion, up 1.8% from February 2022 and was up 14.1% from March 2021, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for March were estimated at an end-of-month level of $2,324.2 billion, up 2.0% from February 2022 and were up 14.7% from March 2021.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of March was 1.27. The March 2021 ratio was 1.26.
