Distrib.Trade Sales and Manu. Shipments Rose 6.1% YOY in Oct.

Washington, DC, December 14, 2018-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for October was estimated at $1,469.9 billion, up 0.3% from September 2018 and was up 6.1% from October 2017, according to the Commerce Department.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories were estimated at an end-of-month level of $1,982.2 billion, up 0.6% from September 2018 and were up 5.2% from October 2017.The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of October was 1.35. The October 2017 ratio was 1.36.
