Dal-Tile Closing New York Mosaic Tile Plant

Olean, NY, Oct. 5, 2012 -- Dal-Tile Corp. said it is closing its mosaic tile manufacturing facility in Olean.

The company cited a weak economy and poor sales and plans to shutter the plant by the end of January. Operations will be consolidated in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

“Though made with careful consideration, declining demand for this type of tile and our excess production capacity necessitated our decision to close the Olean facility,” John Turner Jr., president of Dal-Tile, said in a press release.
