Carpet One Names Muddiest Buddy Winner

Manchester, NH, March 14, 2007--Carpet One Floor & Home named the winner of their Muddiest Buddy contest and the new Lees spokes-pet at their winter convention in Dallas. Bob, a 5-month old yellow Labrador retriever from Santa Ana, California was named the spokes-pet and will be revealed to the public during a nationwide in-store celebration in May. Though Bob didn’t attend the convention, he did join the group “live” from his home in Santa Ana to thank Carpet One Floor & Home for this opportunity. As the Lees spokes-pet, he will be featured in the company’s advertising materials throughout 2007. Carpet One Floor & Home kicked off their search for the Muddiest Buddy and Lees spokes-pet last October, in conjunction with the re-launch of the Lees brand, which has stain resistant qualities that make it the ideal carpeting for pet-owners. Consumers were invited to enter photos of their beloved pets at their dirtiest in stores and online. From more than 1,000 entries, just five finalists were chosen and posted on CarpetOne.com for voting. At the end of the voting period, the winner was clear – Bob won the contest by a landslide! In May, Carpet One Floor & Home stores nationwide will celebrate the new Lees spokes-pet with an in-store event, featuring Lees carpet and other pet-friendly flooring products. Bob will be featured in advertising, POP materials and on the cover of Carpet One Floor & Home’s coffee table book, The Muddiest Buddies: A Collection of North America’s Dirtiest Pets. A portion of sales from the book, which also includes some of the other “muddy buddies,” will go to two pet-friendly charities: American Humane Association and the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. “We are very excited to be introducing the new face of Lees carpet to our members today,” said Terri Daniels, Vice President of Public Relations & Licensing for Carpet One Floor & Home. “Because consumers are now paying more and more attention to their pets, many are looking for pet-friendly products for their homes.
