ATME-I 2004 Draws Crowds from Around the World

Greenville, SC, October 13 – The 2004 edition of the American Textile Machinery Exhibition-International drew an audience of decision makers with more than 68% of ATME-I 2004 attendees at the department manager level or above. ATME-I 2004 drew a total attendance of 8,437, according to audited registration figures. Total visitors were 5,499 from 48 countries and 50 states and U.S. provinces. Exhibitor personnel totaled 2,873, with 65 media rounding out the total audience. "The majority of exhibitors were pleased with the number of decision makers that attended at ATME-I 2004," said Butler Mullins, Director. "Several said the audience was of better quality than the last ATME-I (in 2000 and 2001)." Company chairmen, presidents, owners and partners accounted for 22.63% of the ATME-I 2004 audience, audited figures show. Engineers, R&D and quality control personnel comprised 13.5% of attendees, with plant managers and general managers comprising 8.27%. Those in the Yarn and Fiber Manufacturing sector had the largest contingent at ATME-I 2004 with 1,003, followed by the Weaving sector with 960 attendees, and Dyeing Printing and Finishing with 583 attendees. "U.S. textile executives who attended ATME-I 2004 are serious about staying in business," Mullins said. "They were looking for ways to improve their productivity and efficiency, and they appeared ready to invest in the machinery and equipment to accomplish that and carry them into the future."
