Wholesale Inventories Increase in March

Washington, DC, May 10, 2011 --  U.S. wholesale inventories rose 1.1% in March, compared with a gain of 1% in February, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday.

Sales of wholesalers rose 2.9% in March after dropping 0.3% in February.

At the current sales pace, wholesalers had enough goods on hand to last 1.13 months, matching the level in June 2008 as the lowest on record.
