Mohawk to Continue Offering Discounted Terms on Carpet Products

Calhoun, GA, October 20, 2017-Last week, as part of an announced price increase on residential and mainstreet carpet products, Mohawk announced that it would eliminate discounted terms on residential carpet products, if purchased on that basis, in lieu of a price increase.

The company believes that discounted terms reduce carpet’s competitiveness on the selling floor and are an impediment to simplified transactions between Mohawk and its customers.

However, at this point, Mohawk will rescind that portion of its October 12 letter allowing the exchange of discounted terms in lieu of the announced price increase.

The announced price increase of 5% to 6% on all of its residential and main street carpet products will be applied to all customers in similar manner for orders placed on or after November 27 and shipments after December 29.
