I4F Signs Strategic Partnership with Ulrich Windmöller Consulting

Hannover, DE, January 15, 2018-Innovations4Flooring (I4F) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Ulrich Windmöller Consulting (UWC).

UWC owns all the patent rights for Windmöller Plastic Core Patents in Europe (EP1938963, EP2744657) and is also co-owner of the Windmöller Patents Rights in the U.S. (U.S. 8,071,193; U.S. 8,857,127; U.S. 8,728,603) together with Kowon R&C Corporation. Windmöller also owns the patent rights for US 8,689,513. These patent rights cover products produced containing a plastic core, including LVT and WPC.

With immediate effect, UWC will offer licenses for the Windmöller Patent Rights directly in Europe and the U.S. UWC has notified Unilin about the termination of their agreement relating to certain Windmöller Patent Rights. UWC and I4F also announced that John Rietveldt becomes managing director of UWC in addition to his role as I4F’s CEO and managing director of Classen IP and Kowon.

Following the recently signed strategic partnership with Innovations4Flooring (I4F), Ulrich Windmöller Consulting (UWC) has taken action to enforce its patent rights at the Domotex trade fair in Hannover, Germany. I4F represents UWC and Kowon in the protection of their IP assets and the Windmöller Vinyl Patent Rights.

UWC has notified Välinge that it has no right to incorporate Windmöller patents within its Extended Patent Protection (EPP) licensing program and, as a result, Välinge licensees do not have a valid license to utilize the Windmöller patents. UWC offer licenses for the Windmöller Patent Rights directly in Europe and the U.S. At the same time, UWC requested that Välinge remove all reference to Windmöller patents from its website, its booth at Domotex and to correct its misleading information to the market.
