EPA Formaldehyde Regulation Delayed

Washington, DC, March 24, 2017—The effective date of the EPA formaldehyde regulation, originally March 21, has been delayed until May 22, according to the Hardwood Plywood & Veneer Association, which believes that there is no indication that there will be changes in the regulation.

The presumed reason for the delay is that new EPA appointees need time to learn about the regulation and determine whether a substantive review is needed.
