Contractor Proposes Using Carpet to Reinforce Border Wall

Tempe, AZ, March 20, 2017—CMJ Systems has proposed that the Trump administration consider using used carpet, rather than steel, to reinforce the border wall, according to Fox 10 Phoenix.

"Our technology says there is another product to replace the steel and use carpet. It is twice as strong, and the weight is half of what steel reinforced concrete will be," said CMJ Systems' president, Marc Winkelman.

Utilization of used carpet will both reduce the cost of the wall and provide an end use for carpet that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
