Wholesale Inventories Decline in June

Washington, DC, Aug. 9, 2013 -- Wholesale inventories unexpectedly fell in June for the third month as demand grew, according to the Commerce Department.

The 0.2% decrease followed a 0.6% drop in May that was larger than previously reported.

Wholesalers had enough goods on hand to last 1.17 months at the current sales pace, the least since April 2012.

Stockpiles of hardware fell by the most since September 2009.
