Dalton, GA, Feb. 24, 2014 -- Georgia Governor Nathan Deal recently recognized Shaw Industries among Georgia companies that expanded international markets in 2013.
Shaw received a GLOBE (Georgia Launching Opportunities By Exporting) Award from the Georgia Department of Economic Development during the Go Global reception Feb. 18.
“International trade plays a key role in maintaining Georgia as a leader in the global marketplace,” said GDEcD Commissioner Chris Carr.
“With 14,500 exporters in our state, it is important that we not only encourage companies to explore international markets, but also recognize the companies that have been successful in this venture.”
Shaw exports many of its floorcovering products to markets throughout the world from its manufacturing facilities in Georgia and other U.S. locations. In June Shaw opened a 210,000-square-foot carpet tile plant in Nantong, China.
