SMED, Interface AR Take Haworth Name

Holland, MI, September 20-- Calgary-based SMED International and Grand Rapids-based Interface AR are formally changing their names to Haworth, according to the Holland Sentinel. SMED has been a member of Haworth since January 2000, while Interface AR, access flooring, was acquired by Haworth from Interface Inc. in September 2003. The consolidation creates the new Haworth North America Sector. This name change allows the companies to join their parent company on a global playing field. Haworth's access flooring, movable walls, plug & play technology, and lighting are now being organized into a new sub-brand, Haworth Architectural Interiors. The building products developed by SMED will continue to be built in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. InterfaceAR, a maker of adjustable raised flooring will continue production from its Grand Rapids facility.
