There are two approaches a designer can take with flooring. The first approach is to make the floor the star of the show, and the second approach is to treat the floor as part of the all-important supporting cast. As designers, we naturally tend to approach the flooring first, and, as we explore our many choices, we become more informed and inspired about how the space will ultimately feel. Choosing the type, color and patterning of a floor is a key component and integral part of the process in developing compelling spaces.
