Consumer Sentiment Surges Higher in October

Ann Arbor, MI, Oct. 12, 2012 -- Consumer sentiment rose in early October, according to the University of Michigan-Thomson Reuters consumer-sentiment survey.

The sentiment gauge rose to 83.1 in a preliminary October reading from a final September reading of 78.3.
