Consumer Inflation Flat in October
Washington, DC, Nov. 15, 2012 -- Higher rents offset a drop in gas prices last month, leaving the consumer price index all but flat in October.
The index rose 0.1% in October, the Labor Department said Thursday.
That's down from 0.6% in the previous two months, which were driven by a spike in gas prices.
Shelter costs, which includes rents, rose 0.3%, the most in more than four years.
