WFCA Search Engine Program Increasing Traffic

Anaheim, CA, June 18--The World Floor Covering Association has hired search engine optimization specialist LocalSEOGuide to bring more visitors to its website.

The firm is a partner company to its joint website developing venture Creating Your Space (CYS).  The firm's owner has worked with NBC, LATimes.com, AT&T, numerous yellow pages websites and local retailers. LocalSEOGuide works exclusively with CYS to enhance optimization for flooring industry clients.

The WFCA initiated the SEO program in the first quarter. The initial task was to build a “browsable” directory of WFCA members, along with  products and services that would be visible to all search engines.

Particular attention was paid to targeting consumer searches for flooring information that would drive the most qualified traffic to WFCA members.

Since the SEO program launch in the second quarter, online traffic to wfca.org and its member directory has doubled – even tripled in some cases. Just weeks after the program debuted, the number of visits from consumers interested in making flooring purchases increased over 100 percent.

“Our online dealer locator feature serves as a platform through which we are able to steer customers ready to buy flooring to our many local retail members across the country,” said D. Christopher Davis, WFCA CEO.

“As such, our #1 priority is to continually improve the volume and quality of traffic to our site."

LocalSEOguide owner Andrew Shotland noted that search engine users have a high degree of trust for association websites and .org websites in general.

“The results show that when a person sees the WFCA site appear in a Google search, they are much more likely to click on the WFCA link than a link to a more commercial site.  When they find a member in the retail directory, that trust is passed on to that member.”
