Starnet, CARE, Give Reclamation Awards

Darien, CT, June 5, 2008--Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership said that Sergenian's Floor Coverings, headquartered in Madison, Wis., and Legacy Commercial Flooring, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, are the recipients of the 2007 Starnet/CARE (Carpet America Recovery Effort) Carpet Reclamation Awards for medium-sized and large businesses, respectively.

The award is available to all Starnet members and recognizes the top effort of annual landfill diversion by two members based on sales volume.

Bob Peoples,former CARE executive director, presented the awards at the annual Starnet meeting held in Orlando.

Fred Williamson, vice president operations of Starnet, said, "We are very pleased with the results of our partnership with CARE. Since launching our Starnet/CARE Reclamation Program in January of 2006, Starnet Memberfirms have helped commercial flooring clients meet their individual environmental goals. These companies have set a great example for all of our members to follow."

A joint industry-government initiative, CARE has established itself as a force in the green movement by boosting the recycling of post-consumer carpet from less than 50 million pounds at its time of inception in 2002, to 275 million
pounds in 2007.

- Quantity diverted from landfills: 926,118 sq. feet
- Equivalent number of pounds reclaimed: 463,060 lbs.
- Overall cubic yards of landfill saved: 2,287 cu. yd.
- Average equivalent BTU's saved: 4,630,590,000 BTU's
- Number of US homes that would supply for 1 year: 26
- Global warming potential averted (CO2 equivalent lbs.): 3,237,709 lbs.
- Water saved: 1,412,330 gal.

Legacy's Total Reclamation Activity for 2007
- Quantity diverted from landfills: 3,043,404 sq. feet
- Equivalent number of pounds reclaimed: 1,521,702 lbs.
- Overall cubic yards of landfill saved: 7,515 cu. yd.
- Average equivalent BTU's saved: 15,217,020,000 BTU's
- Number of US homes that would supply for 1 year: 85
- Global warming potential averted (CO2 equivalent lbs.): 10,639,740 lbs.
- Water saved: 4,641,191 gal.
