New Home Sales Fell 6.6% in June, down 19.4% YOY

Washington, D.C., July 26, 2021-New single-family home sales in June 2021 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 676,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The June sales estimate is 6.6% (±16.5%) below the revised May rate of 724,000 and 19.4% (±13.9%) below the June 2020 estimate of 839,000.

The median sales price for new homes sold last month was $361,800 and the average sales price was $428,700.

When it comes to inventory, the seasonally adjusted estimated for new homes for sale at the end of June was 353,000, representing a 6.3-month supply at the current sales rate.
