Mattsson Resigns From Tarkett

Farnham, Quebec, Feb. 27--Tarkett announced today that Ulf Mattsson has resigned as President and CEO of Tarkett Inc. to pursue other interests. Mattsson will leave his executive position effective immediately, but has agreed to remain in the Tarkett group during a transition period to complete certain strategic projects. Mattsson has been with Tarkett for over 16 years, and has held numerous positions based in five different countries. In 2000 he was promoted to his current position as President & CEO of Tarkett Inc (previously named Domco Tarkett). “I would like to thank Ulf for his great contributions to Tarkett during his 16 years within our Company, and we wish him plenty of success in his future career,” said Marc Assa, Chairman of Tarkett Inc. Concurrent with Mattsson’s departure, Tarkett will restructure its global business in a global Commercial and a global Residential organization. The North American business will be integrated accordingly into the new global structure. As a result, Jan Lembregts, President Tarkett Residential, and Jim Morando, President Tarkett Wood will report to the head of the global Residential Division, John Rietveldt; and Gilles de Beaumont, President Tarkett Commercial in North America, will henceforth report to Regis de Boissieu, President of Tarkett Commercial worldwide. “I have had a great journey with Tarkett, but feel that now is the right time to pursue the next step in my career,” said Ulf Mattsson. “We have built up a strong organizational base with exceptional leadership in our three Divisions here in North America, and I am convinced they are ready to successfully develop the business going forward. In addition, the successful launch of our new corporate identity and branding initiative will ensure a common platform for the different business segments in North America”.
