Masland Adds Four Rugs to Soumak Line

Mobile, AL, May 8, 2006--Showcasing a rug style and weaving technique thought to be among the oldest in the world, Masland introduced the Soumak Collection of area rugs at the 2005 High Point market. Rug customers embraced the three Soumak designs for their colors and flat-woven construction. In response to the success of the initial offerings, Masland has added four new rugs to the Soumak collection. Capitalizing on the citrus shades that inspire today's fashions, Herati is designed to appeal those who take a casual approach to home interiors and are looking for a new spin on the classic Oriental rug look. More traditional, Tigris embodies the best of Old World characteristics and colors. With its deep red border and large-scale medallions, Tigris takes center stage in a room. The most intricate and refined of the new patterns, Karadja is available in two distinctive colorways--a traditional look in charcoal and a more fashion forward feel in taupe. Herati, Tigris, and Karadja are available in 5' x 8', 8' x 11', and 10' x 14'. Suggested retail for a 5' x 8' is $799. Masland Carpets is a division of The Dixie Group.
