Intertech Opens Third Location

Austin, TX, July 11, 2007Full-service commercial flooring specialist Intertech Flooring announced today a major expansion, with the addition of a third location in Mission, Texas. The new office brings Intertech’s award-winning flooring expertise to the Rio Grande Valley.

Leading Intertech’s Rio Grande Valley operations is longtime Intertech employee Scott Richter. Since 1995, Richter has been project manager in Intertech’s San Antonio office where he led teams on numerous projects including Foley’s Department Stores, Circuit City, Dell Computer, Enron, U.S. Attorney General’s Office, Motorola, USAA Bank Services, South Texas Regional Blood & Tissue Center, Cancer Therapy & Research Center, Citizens Medical Center, St. Mary’s University, and Baptist Health System.

Richter joined Intertech as a flooring installer and foreman on large projects in 1992, the year Intertech opened its San Antonio location. He is a graduate of Houston Community College’s two-year apprenticeship program. Prior to joining Intertech, he worked as a field estimator for four years with Carpet Resources. He has received two excellence in construction awards from the South Texas Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Intertech Flooring opened its first office in Austin in 1988 with 12 employees. Today the company has more than 150 employees in its Austin, San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley locations and has seen steady year-over-year sales growth. In 2006, sales totaled nearly $26 million, up from $20 million the year before.
