Fuse Alliance Holds Canadian Member Meeting in Ottawa

Ottawa, ON, October 20, 2023-Fuse Alliance, a member-owned organization of professional, commercial flooring contractors, recently held its annual Canadian member meeting at the Hotel Germain in Ottawa. The meeting was attended by Fuse members from across Canada and featured a variety of educational sessions and networking opportunities.

“While our Canadian members routinely participate in the annual North American Fuse conference held in the U.S., we realize there are unique issues facing Canadian flooring contractors as well as differences in supplier distribution channels,” said Geoff Gordon, executive director of Fuse Alliance. “That’s why we believe it is important to host an annual Canadian-specific meeting to address the distinctive needs of our Canadian members.”

The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including process mapping, tools for introducing lean improvement concepts, after-action reviews, selling to general contractors, measure square estimating software, recruiting talent, financial strategies, change orders, outsourced estimating experiences, and general operational practices.

The meeting was a valuable opportunity for Canadian commercial flooring contractors to learn from each other and share best practices. The sessions were informative and engaging, and the networking opportunities were invaluable.

“Our fifth annual Canadian member meeting was a resounding success, with a large number of our Canadian members in attendance,” Gordon said. “The feedback from members was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re already planning for next year’s meeting which will be held in Vancouver, B.C.”
