Butler-Johnson Wins $25,000 Award from Surfaces

Dallas, TX, March 10--Butler-Johnson Corporation, a floor covering distributor in Sacramento, Calif., won $25,000 for bringing the largest number of verified attendees to Surfaces 2005. The cash award is part of an all-new Distributor Program implemented for this year’s event. Distributors participating in the program promoted the show to their retailer customers and helped them register to attend Surfaces. "We are very pleased to have won the distributor cash award," says Clay Covington, general sales manager, Butler-Johnson. "What a great incentive for distributors. This truly was a bonus for us. "We have always promoted the Surfaces event and will continue to do so," adds Covington. "There is no better venue for us to meet with our customers face to face to preview new introductions and talk about upcoming promotions and trends. We would like to thank both Hanley Wood and the NAFCD for giving us this opportunity." Participating companies in the Surfaces 2005 Distributor Program actively assisted in promoting attendance to their clients/members via mailings, newsletters and websites. Then retailers signed up using codes that were assigned to each distributor. At the close of Surfaces, the number of verified attendees registered using each code were confirmed and Butler-Johnson was named the Grand Prize winner. "We were very pleased to partner with distributors across the country for this program," says Michelle Troop, Senior Show Director, Surfaces. "The distributors are a vital part of the floor covering industry and a vital part of Surfaces. We look forward to partnering with even more distributors for Surfaces 2006." In addition to the cash prize for distributors, retailers who signed up with participating distributors were entered into a drawing for a "First-Class Trip to Surfaces." Gary Howard, Gil’s Carpet, Martinez, Calif., won first-class airfare for two to Surfaces, luxury suite accommodations, limousine transfers and tickets to Cirque Du Soleil’s highly acclaimed Mystere show.
