ASID Foundation Names Ray Anderson Trustee

Washington, DC, August 9--The ASID Foundation, Inc. has named new members of its board of trustees. The trustees are chair Juliana Catlin, FASID, of Catlin Interiors; chair-elect H. Don Bowden, FASID, AIA, of Bowden Architecture; Ray C. Anderson of Interface, Inc.; Tammy Duffy Day, ASID, IIDA, LEED AP, of OPX; Odette Lueck, FASID, of Odette Lueck Interiors; BJ Peterson, FASID, of the Peterson-Arce Design Group; Barbara Schlattman, FASID, of Barbara Schlattman Interiors; Stephen G. Sonet, Hon. FASID, of Levy, Sonet & Siegel, LLP; Teresa Sowell, ASID, IIDA, of Raytheon Missile Systems; and Gary E. Wheeler, FASID, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA, of Gensler. The ASID Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the field of interior design by funding innovative and imaginative research and education initiatives, providing scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance to deserving students and making grants to colleges and universities maintaining a regular course of study in the field of interior design. Anderson is chairman, CEO and founder of Interface, Inc., one of the largest producers of commercial floorcoverings, headquartered in Atlanta. In 1996, he received the inaugural Millennium Award from Global Green and was recognized as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southeast Region. A year later, Anderson was appointed co-chair of the President's Council on Sustainable Development, which advises the White House on environmental policy. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
