Alliance Flooring Announces Retailers of the Year

Atlanta, GA, April 11--Alliance Flooring, Inc. held its annual convention for all of its divisions including CarpetsPlus Color Tile, Carpetland Color Tile and Floorco at the Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix, AZ, February 18-21. During the Awards Ceremony, the company recognized each division with a Retailer of the Year Award or Business of the Year Award. CarpetsPlus Color Tile recognized Gary and Nancy Case of Carpet Collection Color Tile in Lockport, NY. Gary and Nancy hosted the CarpetsPlus Color Tile 2004 Summit and have been steadily increasing their annual sales since they joined the program. They moved to a new location in the spring of 2004, renovating a former lumberyard and home center into a state of the art showroom. The Case’s said of winning the award, "We attribute our growth and success this past year to our change of store location, our greater emphasis on hard surface stock and sampling, continuing sales and support training and education, and our on-going partnership with CarpetsPlus Color Tile." Duke Karns and his staff in the Carpetland USA in Lafayette, IN store were honored as Carpetland Color Tile Retailer of the Year. They renovated their 12,000 square foot store last year, showcasing rugs and all hard surface categories while maintaining an emphasis on in-house stock. Duke Karns has been a Carpetland USA owner for three decades and an integral part of the brand’s growth in central Indiana. Duke stated, "Our staff worked very hard last year and were excited to hear the news. They carried that enthusiasm right into our Private Sale the following day, producing one of our best sales ever Thanks for the recognition and a great show." The "direct to the trade" division, Floorco, was also acknowledged at the convention. Honored for this division was David Gaspard, whose two locations were recognized as Business of the Year. David is a "founding father" of the Floorco division, opening his first store in Mandeville, LA and his second in Harahan, a suburb of New Orleans. In just two years David and his team have outpaced all projections and have been very instrumental in helping the national growth of the Floorco division. David stated, "When the Floorco concept was introduced, I knew this was the direction I wanted to take with my floor covering business. My staff has worked hard to help me create two successful wholesale floor covering stores. I look forward to opening more stores and a continued profitable association with CarpetsPlus Color Tile."
