Jobless Claims Edge Up Last Week

Washington, DC, Feb. 12, 2015 -- Initial applications for unemployment benefits last week rose 25,000 to a seasonally adjusted 304,000, the Labor Department said.

The four-week average fell to 289,750. That is down 14% from a year ago.

The total number receiving benefits fell 51,000 to 2.35 million, the fewest in six weeks.
